The Place in the Park is a purpose built single story venue built in 2001. It is of an unusual if not quirky design having three towering triangular roof towers. It has a large circular coffee shop with a magnificent huge dome directly above the centre and also offers an in-house gift shop with a beautiful range of gifts and outstanding views across the award winning Ward Jackson Park, which is Harltepool’s premier park.
There is still more to this, as the building also has two conference suites, the main suite can accommodate up to 80 delegates and opens up onto a fully enclosed private garden and a smaller suite making an ideal meeting/interview room for up to 10 delegates.
The park is listed in the National Register of Historic Parks & Gardens because of its collection of Victorial and Edwardian features: the Lodge House (1883), the Bandstand (1901), the Fountain (1902), the Clock Tower (1925) and the magnificent Lake set in its Victorian landscape.
